Illinois Compliance Checklist

Illinois P.A. 102-0055 — Media Literacy Mandate Requires Illinois schools to integrate media literacy into instruction — which includes AI literacy, source evaluation, and misinformation detection. EnhanceED AI's 9-mission teacher track directly prepares educators to deliver this instruction. Mission 5 (hallucination detection) is a direct implementation example.
SOPPA — Student Online Personal Protection Act (Illinois) SOPPA applies when minors use an operator's online service for K-12 purposes. EnhanceED AI's student track does NOT send student PII to AI systems. The Gemini sandbox receives only the student's typed message — no name, email, or school identifiers. A signed DPA is available for districts that require it before deployment.
FERPA — Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Teachers are trained in Mission 4 to classify educational data using the Stoplight model — what can go into AI (Green), what requires caution (Yellow), and what never should (Red: student PII, grades, IEPs).
