The first thing AI gives you is almost never the best thing it can give you. This module teaches you the one habit that separates students who actually benefit from AI from students who just generate mediocre output faster. Then you'll do it live.
Here's what most people do with AI: ask a question, get an answer, done. Copy, paste, submit.
Here's the problem: AI gives you its most generic, most average response on the first try. It doesn't know what you actually care about, what angle you want, how deep you want to go, or what part of its answer is wrong. It's pattern-matching to produce something acceptable — not something excellent.
The difference between an average AI response and a genuinely useful one is almost always a conversation, not a single prompt. When you push back, ask why, request a different approach, or challenge an assumption, the AI recalibrates. You steer it toward something better.
Gets a textbook-level overview. Pastes it. Turns it in. Learns nothing, remembers nothing, can't explain it in class.
Gets three increasingly specific responses. Understands the concept. Can talk about it in class. Actually learned something.
Same amount of time. Student B sent more messages, but didn't spend more time — they just used that time to actually engage instead of copy-pasting. The gap in understanding between them will compound for years.
